Subject:

All stamps of the semi-postal Christmas issue were printed without value indication. The cost of all stamps was standard (see description in the end of the issue).

The stamps were sold for a limited amount of time - from the day of issue until the beginning of January of the next year. After that, the stamps were withdrawn from sale and no longer valid as postage.

The main page of the issue includes 46 small and 1 large stamps, connected by a common plot - a map of Denmark with its architectural, historical and cultural symbols.

On the stamp and in the margin of the sheet to the left of it, there is the Rönland* offshore wind farm.

Additional:

*Denmark's wind power generation is the highest in the world as a fraction of domestic consumption, reaching 47% in 2019.

Rønland Offshore Wind Farm is a nearshore wind farm in the westmost part of Limfjorden. It was commissioned in 2003 and consists of four 2 MW Vestas wind turbines and four 2.3 MW ones from Bonus/Siemens.

Booklet of 10 stamps on self-adhesive paper. This and the previous parts of the issue were intended for sending small messages - postcards and light envelopes up to 20 grams.

The design uses various subjects from the main image.
Here Dybbol Mill is shown on a fragment of a conditional map of Denmark, which has nothing to do with its real location.

This type of booklet was sold in sets of one and three pieces, and was enclosed in two types of covers (with stories from the main sheet), and resembling a folding postcard.

The last part of the issue, printed in booklets of 5 stamps, on self-adhesive paper.

The stamps were intended for sending correspondence from 20 gr. and are large format for ease of use and definition. Their size is 49x63 mm (as the only large stamp from large sheets of issue), while all other stamps are 25x32 mm.

Here the Dybböhl mill completely repeats the stamp from the main sheet.

The Christmas-themed stamps - which cost slightly more than a regular one - raise money for the Christmas Seal Foundation, of which Crown Princess Mary is patron.

The foundation runs five homes for children battling loneliness, bullying, social isolation and obesity, helping up to 1000 children a year through a 10-week program of healthy living and exercise.

This year's stamp theme is titled 'Christmas in Community', celebrating the 100th anniversary of the reunification of Denmark and Southern Jutland, which was held by Germany during the first world war.

Mary unveiled this year's stamp, designed by Danish illustrator Tomas Björnsson who described the honour as "pretty huge" and said he was "pretty proud" to have his work chosen for the stamp, which has been Christmas tradition in Denmark since 1904.
