*Eschen is a municipality in the north of Liechtenstein. As of 2005 it has a population of 4,012, and covers an area of 10,3 km². It is the fourth largest city in Liechtenstein.

The Eschen mill on St. Martinsring was converted into a mill from an old grape-pressing house in 1912. The client was the Eschen Mühlegesellschaft (Eschen Milling Company) comprising 28 farmers. An important idea behind setting up the mill, which was electrically driven from the outset, was to ensure the provision of basic essentials for the local population. For decades “Türken” (A regional Term), i.e. maize, was ground at the mill. The mill also evolved into a social meeting-place for young and old. In the 1970s the mill went into the red for the first time. In 1980 it was sold to the Eschen community and soon afterwards renovated. Today it enjoys protected status as part of the cultural heritage.
